A retro Christmas

Those around me have begun to find it fairly easy to shop for Christmas presents for me.  Simply find a nifty fifties item and wrap it up!  I love the stuff that people find in their travels to various antique stores.  Here are a couple of presents I received this year that will look awesome in my “new” kitchen:

The above gift came complete with a can of candy red Rustoleum to re-paint the metal tops of the sugar and flour, which looked like they had been well used over the years.

Salt and pepper shakers!  I’ve been looking for these things for a long time now, and it seems to be impossible to find some in decent condition.  They’ll look grand on the chrome table, which is weaving its way to my house at this moment.  (On a truck, of course.)

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!
