… just so I don’t cry!
I called the carpenter to tell him that our closing date was Tuesday, and the money would come through on Thursday so he could go buy supplies. Left him a message.
Two hours ago I get a return call. Oh, he forgot to tell me that he accepted a full-time job somewhere in a neighboring town, so, uh, he wasn’t sure, uh, what to tell me.
I knew what I wanted to tell him, but I was somehow able to keep my mouth shut.
Closing is tomorrow. I’m starting to freak out. If only there was an invention along the lines of “Instant Contractor in a Cup.” Just add water, microwave, and enjoy the work being done! Then again, I don’t think I’d want someone whose brain I just microwaved actually taking a crowbar to my house, but at this point, I’m not sure I care.
